7 Ways Successful Creatives Think Differently than Unsuccessful Ones

Copied and reformatted from Michael Hyatt’s Blog

Tom Spencer - This Blog from Michael Hyatt is so encouraging!

1 …think big. “Go big or go home.”

If they are going to go to the trouble of writing a book, preparing a speech, or recording an album, they might as well make the biggest impact they can. They aren’t naive about the amount of work it will take, but they still dream big. They are always asking, “What could we do that would exceed everyone’s expectations?”

2. …take responsibility for the outcome.

They don’t expect someone else to make them famous or successful, though they realize they can’t succeed without others. They own their work and accept responsibility for how it is received by the market.

3. …listen well and are not know-it-alls.

They understand that being good at one thing (e.g., writing, speaking, or singing) doesn’t mean they are good at everything (e.g., packaging or marketing). As a result, they listen to those who have more experience. Ultimately, this raises their probability for success.

4. …seek help.

While the best creatives accept ultimate responsibility for the outcome, they enroll everyone they can to help them succeed. They understand they can’t do it alone. As a result, they build a world-class team around them. They are constantly asking, “Who else can I enroll to help get me where I want to go.”

5. …work hard and are not lazy.

They don’t assume that their work is done once the book is written, the speech prepared, or the album recorded. In a real sense, their work has only just begun. They don’t display a spirit of entitlement. Instead, they roll up their sleeves and do the work that lesser creatives are unwilling to do.

6. …remain humble knowing that success is illusive and fragile.

They know that they didn’t attain it on their own, nor will they preserve it on their own. This makes them grateful and humble. Though they face the same temptations to become arrogant, they understand the dangers and comport themselves accordingly.

7. …give praise, taking all the responsibility and little of the credit.

They are quick to give that away to the numerous people who helped them get where they are. These creatives are especially good at praising in public and shining the spotlight on others.

The bottom line is that you have more control over your success than you may think. However, you must develop a winning mind set and cultivate the habits of successful thinking. This is what separates the best creatives from all others.

Google levels the Internet playing field for small businesses

Your WebSite in the top 10 on Google search!

   Tom Spencer

Want your local business WebSite to be in the top 10 listings on Google out of 100,000 WebSites? Large business can pay thousands of dollars to be listed in the top 10 but Google leveled the playing field for small businesses on a tight budget.

First you need a WebSite you can get a free one by clicking here.

Second google yourself! Click google in the search bar, when there type in you top product (ok, you can type in your name or store name, it is kind of fun) now back to work. Say you are a moving company in Enumclaw; think like someone looking for your product that does not know your business name.

This is what it looks like; you’re looking for a mover in your town. Type in the town first then move or moving or mover, see what comes up. Enumclaw Moving & Storage…

The top three with a yellow background are sponsored meaning they pay money to be listed there.

Next you will see a map entitled Places (Google Places) the first one listed is in alphabetical order Budget Truck Rentals the second is your moving company MovingMade-EZ.

Notice the little number at the top; you are listed number 6 out of 167,000 WebSites that have the same information!

Click on your name, then at the top of the page it will read “Claim this listing” click & claim & insert your information including your WebSite and pictures! If you have already claimed the listing check to see if all of your information is correct.

You can do this same process for the following local Indexes, just click & claim:

SuperMedia.com

Manta.com

Integrity-Bookkeeping.com is truly “Bookkeeping made simple”.

Taking the FEAR out of tax agencies.

    Tom Spencer

  www.Integrity-Bookkeeping.com

Has anyone noticed that State and Federal tax enforcement agencies have really turned up the heat in the last year? It seems as if our government is so desperate for money that all of the agencies are jockeying to squeeze blood out of the same turnip.  Well it is the businesses that have their books in order that seem to skate through this full on attack with little damage.

In today’s economy it is hard enough to stay afloat without losing sleep wondering if the L&I was figured right or to make sure you payroll taxes balance, let-a-lone filing all the right documents with a new employee.  When you get a letter requesting for back child support because you did not garnish wages it gets messy.

The other observation I have noticed is that several bookkeeping companies in the area have either gone under or left town leaving several businesses in a huge bind.

Integrity-Bookkeeping.com is now offering their services to Enumclaw with a very creative fee schedule. First of all they are the only Bookkeeping service I have ever seen that publishes their prices. Secondly they have introduced a Budget Plan that meets every bookkeeping need of any business with 1 to 5 employees.

Integrity-Bookkeeping.com is offering an Enumclaw introductory price that has shocked me I hope they can help you.

Their choices are:

The Budget Plan

The Budget Plus Plan

The Full Service Plan

S.O.S Advanced Plan

Click and read it for yourself!

Visit them at www.Integrity-Bookkeeping.com and tell the IRS to take a hike.

$1M - What does a Millionaire Look Like?

  TOM SPENCER THE WEBINATOR

What is your picture of a millionaire?
What you think a Millionaire looks like, will determine if you will become one
.

I was raised in a family business with my dad, mom & three older brothers selling quality men's clothing in a small town of 7000 people.  My image of a Millionaire was shaped at an early age when I watched an elderly man short & rough in appearance come into the store once a year for five years in a row to buy his yearly straw hat.

Why once a year? Because my dad put the straw hats on sale when the first snow would fall and this gentleman would only buy one new hat a year and only on sale at that. After he would try to get my dad to knock off a few more dollars by suggesting the sale price was outrageous, my dad would throw his head back, laugh and say: "You can afford it" then he would take the man's money.

Every year when the man walked out of the store with his new hat my dad would roll his eyes and say: "That man is a Millionaire and he complains about the price of my sale hats."

Really? A Millionaire?

Do you know a Millionaire? Do they challenge your image?
Or do know what the real defination of a Millionaire is?
